Trustees Visit City Under Siege Works
Trustees of the Gibraltar Heritage Trust have visited the City Under Siege Exhibition in the Upper Rock to view progress on the restoration and upgrade works currently underway at the site.
The exhibition, set within some of Gibraltar’s oldest surviving military buildings, is being carefully conserved by Wright Tech and specialist contractors. The project includes structural repairs, preservation of 18th-century soldiers’ graffiti, and a full reinterpretation of the displays to highlight the human stories of the Great Siege. A new reflective garden space is also being created.
Trustees were given a tour of the works and expressed their support for the project and the standard of conservation and the new approach to interpretation.
The exhibition is expected to reopen to the public later this autumn.
