Donation to Fortress of Gibraltar Group

The Trust and Fortress of Gibraltar Group (FoGG) would like to express its gratitude to DesElec Ltd Gibraltar for their donation of £500 for the continuation of FoGG's work to preserve Gibraltar’s military heritage assets.

FoGG have been operating as a focus study group since 2015. It is comprised of amateur historians and caving enthusiasts, including Ian Reyes, Fabian Reyes, Victor Hermida, Mark Ainsworth, John Balestrino, and JeanPaul Latin. Much of their initial research focused on documenting WWII structures on the Rock, such as the concrete shelters and bunkers along the eastern seaboard. It has evolved to include a restoration project in the Princess Royal Batteries in the Upper Rock, where they have also set up a HQ to conduct their research and work on salvaged historical artefacts. Some of you may have already joined them on a tour of the SOE Transmitter Room and Position Finding Cells in the Upper Rock.

Their aim is to raise public awareness of our physical military history and ensure its future preservation. They are always keen to take on new members too. If you want to join their team, get in touch with us at exec@gibraltarherutagetrust.org.gi. You can also get in touch with the group directly by contacting Jean Paul Latin at jplatin@outlook.com.
