Europa Point Lighthouse to Open to the Public for Guided Tours
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust and WrightTech Ltd, in partnership with Trinity House and the Government of Gibraltar, are delighted to announce that guided public tours of the iconic Europa Point Lighthouse will soon become a reality.
For the first time in decades, residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to climb one of Gibraltar's most recognisable landmarks, discovering the fascinating stories of the lighthouse and the strategic role it has played in safeguarding ships at the gateway to the Mediterranean.
The new visitor experience will offer exclusive access inside the lighthouse, taking guests through its history, engineering and maritime significance before ascending the spiral staircase to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from what is undoubtedly one of Gibraltar's most spectacular vantage points.
The project represents a unique collaboration between Trinity House, operators and custodians of the lighthouse for over 180years, the Gibraltar Heritage Trust, which will manage the visitor experience, and Wright Tech, whose expertise in immersive interpretation and storytelling is helping to bring the lighthouse's remarkable stories to life.
Visitors can look forward to engaging interpretation, multimedia displays and guided storytelling that celebrates Gibraltar's rich maritime heritage and the enduring importance of Europa Point as the meeting place of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.

Europa Point Lighthouse has guided mariners safely through the Strait of Gibraltar since 1841 and remains the only Trinity House operated lighthouse outside of the British Isles. Its distinctive red-and-white tower is recognised around the world as one of Gibraltar's defining landmarks.
