Gibraltar Heritage Trust Holds AGM, Announces New Chair and Publishes Annual Report
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 20th November, bringing together members, supporters, and stakeholders to review the past year’s work and outline priorities for the year ahead. Minister for Heritage, Hon. John Cortes also attended and addressed the membership.

At the meeting, Mr Ian Balestrino stepped down as Chairman after 13 years of dedicated service. During his tenure, Mr Balestrino has overseen progress across multiple heritage initiatives, and championed the protection and promotion of Gibraltar’s historic environment. The Trust expressed its sincere thanks for his longstanding commitment in volunteering. A number of Trustees also stepped down at the AGM following the completion of their term, Ray Payas, Yvette Zarb, Francis Silva, Glen Banda were all thanked for their contribution to the Trust. All were presented with a thank you token in appreciation of their time and efforts.

Following on from the AGM, the Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Keith Farrell who returns to the Chair of the Gibraltar Heritage Trust. Mr Farrell, who has served on the Board since 2011, has been Chair for 2 terms previously so brings extensive experience. Two new Trustees, Mark Dellipiani and Tommy Smith join the Board from the general membership.
The Trust’s Annual Report for 2024/25 has also been published and is now available for download from our website. A limited number of hard copies may be collected from the Main Guard during opening hours.
