Our Annual Painting Competition is one of our most looked forward to events in our annual calendar. It is a chance to invite any aspiring and professional artists as well as curious individuals who would like to spend a day out with a pallet and blank canvas. The event has always brought the community together, celebrating local art, and of course our heritage; architectural, social, and natural. As the pandemic rampaged on last year, we knew it was very important to keep the competition going and lift the community spirit in lockdown. This year was no different, and we were very excited to welcome back applicants to the open-air competition in Europa Point, to capture the views of Europa Flats area. Despite some hesitation, we saw great turnouts for both our 31st and 32nd editions, as well as jaw-dropping talent come to the fore. We hope to continue to run these competitions for as long as the Trust is here to offer them, and in doing so, help nurture artistic talent on the Rock which captures and illustrates the heritage that is all around us for future generations to see.
