Gardening Project

A group of 16 young people from the Dolphins Youth Club have been involved in a renovation / gardening project over the last couple of months. This included learning about local fauna through a very informative and interesting tour of Gibraltar’s Botanic Gardens.

The young people planted some flowers and plants in an area at the club which they have been responsible for maintaining and watering. Their final piece was a renovation of a plot of land close to their premises, just opposite the Anchorage which had been unattended for a while and was bursting with overgrown weeds, untrimmed bushes and rubbish. This task took the young people two days to complete, it required commitment, determination, team work and the desire to learn new skills amongst others.

The Gibraltar Heritage Trust and Green Arc, through Trustees Dr Keith Farrell and Alan Brownbridge, have been heavily involved in the project with Dr. Farrell lending his skills and knowledge and co-ordinating the clear up together with the Youth Service.
